The Customs Authority handled 67 cases last week in cooperation with partner agencies
The most prominent cases are as follows:
42 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, aimed at improving state revenues and bolstering the treasury. These cases included:
- 15 tax and customs violations, with the taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 11 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.
- 16 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
23 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health to prevent the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these cases included:
- Seizure and destruction of approximately 1 ton of expired and unfit-for-consumption food products, cosmetics, and medical supplies.
- Seizure and handover of 3.6 kg of prohibited sexual stimulants to the relevant authorities.
- Seizure and handover of 22 kg of cosmetics that violated mandatory regulations to the relevant authorities. In one case, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, 21.6 tons of watermelon were seized for lacking the required agricultural permit and were handed over to the relevant authorities.
In another case, in cooperation with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, 340 Israeli SIM cards, prohibited from circulation, were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
