The Customs Authority handled 100 cases last week in cooperation with partner agencies
The most prominent cases are as follows:
55 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, aimed at improving state revenues and bolstering the treasury. These cases resulted in the seizure of:
- 14 tax and customs cases, with the taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- Two cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper invoices.
- 39 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
40 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health to prevent the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these cases include:
- The seizure and destruction of 2.1 tons of expired and unfit-for-consumption food products, meat, and cosmetics.
- The seizure and destruction of 250 kg and 521 pieces of expired and unfit-for-consumption medical supplies and medications, which were handed over to the relevant authorities, in addition to 66 kg of expired baby care products. - 887 kg of unlicensed nutritional supplements and 2 kg of prohibited sexual stimulants were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
- 72 kg of dates of unknown origin were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
Two cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, during which:
- 80 tons of agricultural soil were seized. 40 tons were returned to their source, and 40 tons were impounded and handed over to the relevant authorities pending the results of testing.
Three cases were handled in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority, during which:
- 68 tons of solid waste originating from Israel were seized and returned to their source.
The Customs Control Department urges citizens to report smuggled, spoiled, or counterfeit goods, price manipulation, or monopolistic practices by calling the toll-free number 132 or contacting the department through its official Facebook page.
