5/2/2023 Sunday: The customs police have dealt with 12 cases during the past hours.
The details of the cases that were seized were as follows:
_ 3 cases in cooperation with the competent authorities in the Ministry of National Economy and Health, as follows:
_ In Jenin, 1121 kilos of turkey meat were seized, unfit for human consumption; Due to poor storage and signs of damage, it was destroyed.
_ In Qalqilya, 124 kilos of expired and unfit for consumption chocolate and coffee were seized, and they were destroyed. Also, 48 kilos of foodstuffs were seized without a label in the Arabic language, and they were kept pending completion of the legal procedures.
One case, in cooperation with the competent authorities in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, was as follows:
_ In Tulkarem, a number of communication devices were seized that did not meet the legal requirements, and they were seized until the completion of the legal procedures.
- 8 cases in the field of tax and customs smuggling. Non-compliant taxpayers were referred to the Ministry of Finance to pay their tax obligations and settle their situation.
_ The agency intensifies its field and control efforts on shops and markets with the relevant partner authorities; To ensure the availability of basic commodities and the absence of any illegal substances in the market, and to monitor the commercial movement and the safety of goods and commodities, and not to monopolize.
