Ramallah – September 30, 2026: The Customs Police participated today, Wednesday, in welcoming the Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Rizq Salimiya, to the Jericho and Jordan Valley Governorate. The reception was attended by the Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Dr. Hussein Hamayel, as well as directors of official and security institutions and representatives from the Chamber of Commerce.
In the same context, the Customs Police took part in the launch of the date harvest season in the Jericho and Jordan Valley Governorate. The event, held under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Rizq Salimiya, and the Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Dr. Hussein Hamayel, commenced at the farms of the Arab Development Society in Jericho. It was attended by representatives from official institutions, the Farmers' Union, and various date-palm associations.
The launch of this season underscores the significance of the date-palm sector in the governorate and aligns with ongoing efforts to monitor the state of the sector and address the key challenges and obstacles faced by farmers.
