Approximately 34 tons of expired goods were seized last week in cooperation with partner agencies

The most prominent cases are as follows:

17 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, aimed at boosting public revenues and bolstering the treasury. These cases resulted in:

- 10 tax and customs violations, with the taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.

- 3 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.

- 4 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.

20 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy, aimed at protecting the local market and curbing the circulation of illegal and non-compliant goods. The most prominent of these cases include:

- Seizure and destruction of approximately 8 tons of expired and unfit-for-human-consumption food products.

- Seizure and confiscation of 20 tons of food products and energy drinks that violated mandatory regulations. These were handed over to the relevant authorities.

8 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. In order to protect public health and safety and curb the circulation of unfit food products, the following were seized:

- Approximately 25 tons of fruits and other food items unfit for human consumption, which were subsequently destroyed.

- Over 600 kg of turkey and chicken meat unfit for human consumption, which were also destroyed.

The Customs Authority urges citizens to report any smuggled, spoiled, or counterfeit goods, as well as instances of price manipulation or monopolistic practices, by calling the toll-free number 132 or contacting the Authority's official Facebook page.
