Ramallah – August 18, 2026 Major General Iyad Barakat, Commander of the Customs Police, received Dr. Ghassan Barakat, Director General of Nablus Specialized Hospital, and his accompanying delegation at his office in the Customs Police headquarters in Ramallah on Tuesday.

Major General Barakat welcomed Dr. Ghassan and his delegation, outlining the work of the Customs Police and its efforts, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities, to combat smuggled and counterfeit medicines and reduce their circulation, thereby contributing to protecting public health and enhancing health security.

For his part, Dr. Ghassan Barakat praised the role of the Customs Police in protecting citizens and the national economy, commending its efforts in combating smuggling and customs evasion, and its contribution to strengthening food and health security.

During the meeting, a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed, along with ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in related fields, contributing to supporting efforts aimed at protecting public health and enhancing health security.
