Nearly Half a Ton of Expired Food and Soft Drinks Seized South of Hebron

 

Ramallah – July 29, 2026 Based on information received, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the relevant department at the Ministry of National Economy, seized nearly half a ton of rice, sugar, and soft drinks unfit for human consumption in a warehouse south of Hebron on Wednesday. The products had expired, and their consumption could pose serious health risks to consumers.

In a separate incident, during inspection tours of shops and markets in Hebron Governorate, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the Public Safety Committee, seized 60 kg of food unfit for human consumption due to its expiration date. Consuming these products could also pose health risks to consumers.

Consequently, the relevant authorities ordered the destruction of the seized quantities according to safe and hygienic methods, and the completion of all necessary legal procedures
