Nearly 7 tons of expired goods were seized last week in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent cases are as follows:
33 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, aimed at improving state revenues and bolstering the treasury. These cases resulted in the seizure of:
- 16 tax and customs cases, with the taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 6 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.
- 11 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
24 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, aimed at preventing the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these cases include:
- The seizure and destruction of nearly 7 tons of expired and unfit-for-human-consumption food and cosmetic products.
- The seizure of a date-printing machine that was prohibited and violated mandatory regulations. This machine was handed over to the relevant authorities.
- The seizure of 104 cubes and 170 kg of prohibited fireworks. These fireworks were also handed over to the relevant authorities. - 4.5 tons of prohibited sexual stimulants were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
In one case, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, the following were seized:
- Approximately 8 tons of watermelon and approximately 900 kg of lemons were seized for transporting without the required agricultural permit and were handed over to the relevant authorities.
In one case, in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority, the following were seized:
- 20 tons of construction waste originating from Israel were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
The Customs Control Department urges citizens to report smuggled, spoiled, or counterfeit goods, price manipulation, or monopolistic practices by calling the toll-free number 132 or through the department's official Facebook page.
