Major General Iyad Barakat Meets with the Outgoing Canadian Security Mission and Welcomes the New Delegation

 

Ramallah - July 13, 2026 - Major General Iyad Barakat, Commander of the Customs Police, met today, Monday, at the Customs Police headquarters in Ramallah, with the outgoing and incoming Canadian security missions. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Graham Dattle, representative of the Canadian Consulate to the State of Palestine.

Major General Barakat praised the technical, training, and logistical support provided by the mission over the past years, emphasizing that this support directly contributed to developing the capabilities of the Customs Police personnel and enhancing professionalism and transparency in field operations.

Major General Barakat also welcomed the new Canadian delegation, affirming the Customs Police's commitment to continuing its partnership with the Canadian security mission to further develop the security system, enforce the law, and protect the national economy.

For their part, the delegation expressed their appreciation for the cooperation with the Customs Police, affirming the mission's continued support for the Palestinian security forces.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Barakat presented a commemorative plaque to the outgoing delegation in recognition of their service and support to the Customs Police.
