Two Illegal Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plants Busted in Hebron

The Customs Police and Preventive Security Service, in cooperation with relevant departments in the Ministries of Health and National Economy, and the Governorate's Public Safety Committee, raided two unlicensed pharmaceutical manufacturing plants in Hebron on Monday. The plants were being used to illegally manufacture and counterfeit medicines and pharmaceutical products.

Following a warrant from the Public Prosecutor's Office, the raids resulted in the seizure of materials and equipment used in the manufacturing and counterfeiting process. These included large quantities of empty capsules ready for filling, ready-made medical containers, and equipment and machinery used in the production of pharmaceuticals.

A machine used to falsify production and expiration dates was also seized, along with counterfeit labels bearing the names of various companies and medications. Expired herbs, oils, and food products that were being repackaged for sale were also confiscated, as well as cosmetic products being manufactured within the plants.

One suspect was arrested, the plants were closed, and the seized materials were impounded pending further legal action against those involved. The Customs Authority affirms its continued pursuit of all illegal commercial activities that affect the health and safety of citizens, and calls for not purchasing any medical or cosmetic products from unreliable sources, and reporting any suspicions to the toll-free number 132 in order to protect your health and safety.
