Nearly a Quarter Ton of Unfit Rice Seized South of Hebron

 

Ramallah, April 2, 2026 – During routine inspections of shops and markets, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the Hebron Governorate, the Ministries of National Economy and Health, and the Yatta Municipality Health Department, seized nearly a quarter ton of rice unfit for human consumption from a shop in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, on Thursday. The rice showed signs of spoilage, and its consumption could pose significant health risks to consumers.

Consequently, the relevant authorities ordered the destruction of the rice using safe and sanitary methods, and the completion of all necessary legal procedures.
