Nearly 3.5 tons of expired goods were seized last week in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent cases are as follows:
29 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, aimed at improving state revenues and bolstering the treasury. These cases included:
- 23 tax and customs cases, with the taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 4 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.
- 2 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
33 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, aimed at preventing the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these cases included:
- Seizure of approximately 3.5 tons of expired and unfit-for-human-consumption food and cosmetic products, which were subsequently destroyed.
- Seizure of 60 liters of energy drinks that violated mandatory regulations.
One case in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, during which:
- 840 kg of strawberries were seized for lack of an agricultural transport permit and were handed over to the relevant authorities. The Customs Authority calls on citizens to report smuggled, spoiled, or counterfeit goods, price manipulation of products, or monopolies by calling the toll-free number 132 or through the Authority’s official page on the social networking site (Facebook).
