Approximately 850 kg of strawberries from Israel seized in Nablus Governorate

 

Ramallah – March 10, 2026: Customs officers, while operating at a checkpoint in Nablus Governorate on Tuesday, seized a vehicle coming from Israel carrying 850 kg of strawberries without the required agricultural transport permit.

Upon summoning the relevant department at the Ministry of Agriculture, it was decided to confiscate the seized quantity and refer the case to the Economic Crimes Prosecution for further legal action.

In a separate incident, during inspection tours of shops and markets, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the Public Safety Committee, seized approximately 50 kg of food items unfit for human consumption in Nablus Governorate on Tuesday. The items had expired, and their consumption could pose health risks to consumers.

Consequently, the relevant authorities in the Public Safety Committee ordered the destruction of the seized quantity using safe and hygienic methods, and the completion of all necessary legal procedures.
