The Customs police Department handled 48 cases last week in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent of these were as follows:
24 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, with the aim of improving state revenues and providing the treasury with funds. These cases included:
- 18 tax and customs cases, with taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 6 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
20 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, to prevent the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these were:
- Approximately 12 tons of expired food, juices, and meat unfit for human consumption were seized and destroyed.
- 180 grams of prohibited sexually explicit materials were seized and handed over to the competent authorities.
- 3 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, during which:
- 28 tons of onions and 14 calves transported without an agricultural transportation permit were seized and handed over to the competent authorities.
- 150 kg of agricultural fertilizer banned from circulation in the local market was destroyed.
One case, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, resulted in the seizure of:
26 unlicensed postal parcels. The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
