The Customs Police Department handled 43 cases last week, in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent of these were as follows:
23 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, with the aim of improving state revenues and providing the treasury with funds. These cases included:
- 20 tax and customs cases, with taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 3 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
17 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, to prevent the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these were:
- Approximately 24 tons of expired food were seized.
- 854 kg and 17,115 pills of prohibited stimulants were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
3 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, during which:
405 Israeli SIM cards, 17 Israeli GPS devices, and 8 prohibited recharge cards were seized. The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
The Customs Authority calls on citizens to report smuggled, spoiled, or counterfeit goods, or tampering with product prices or monopoly, by calling the toll-free number 132 or via the Authority's official Facebook page.
