Customs Police Handles 140 Cases in Cooperation with Partner Authorities During June

Ramallah, July 8, 2025: The Customs Police Department handled 140 cases during June, in cooperation with civil partners and relevant security agencies, as part of its efforts to protect markets from the spread of spoiled, smuggled, and settlement goods, and to protect the national economy.
In detail:
84 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and replenish the treasury, detailed as follows:
- 55 tax and customs cases, including the referral of taxpayers to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 7 cases involving goods arriving from Israel that did not carry a clearing invoice.
- 22 cases involving smuggled tobacco, which is prohibited from circulation due to its economic damage and drain on the state treasury.
49 cases were investigated in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health to prevent the spread of spoiled, counterfeit, and settlement goods and to ensure health security. These include:
- Approximately 18.4 tons of expired food, supplies, and cleaning supplies were seized and destroyed.
- Approximately 3 tons of cosmetics, supplies, and pesticides were seized without identification cards and in violation of mandatory regulations. These were handed over to the relevant authorities.
- 820 beaded toys, 131 beaded boxes, and 13 firework cubes were seized, all prohibited goods.
- 103 packages of prohibited and unlicensed sexually explicit materials were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
Three cases were investigated in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture:
- Three cases of agricultural products seized without an agricultural transport permit, unfit for consumption, or prohibited by a decision of His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture.
Three cases were investigated in cooperation with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy, during which:
- Seizure of (8 parcels and 41 kg) of postal parcels prohibited from circulation in the Palestinian market.
- Seizure of 15 unlicensed mobile devices, which were handed over to the relevant authorities.
One case, in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority, involved the seizure of:
- Seizure of 10 gas cylinders coming from Israel, in violation of applicable Palestinian regulations and laws. These were returned to their source.
